Can You Buy Stock In Palmer's?

At almost 31 weeks, I have gone through countless Palmer's Cocoa Butter products.  Each day after I get out of the shower I am religious about using the Palmer's cocoa butter for stretch marks-all over body lotion AND Palmer's cocoa butter for stretch mark-concentrated cream on my growing belly.  The buttering continues before I go to bed with Palmer's Tummy Butter.  So far, so good!  I am hoping this trend will continue over the next 9 weeks.  I am sure I am stretch mark free mostly due to being blessed with good DNA (thanks Mom & Dad!!!); however, I am not willing to give up my Palmer's routine even though it has a big effect on my pocketbook!

Our prep for baby continues.  We have Peanut's room mostly cleared.  The closet is completely empty, the basement is rearranged and the desk has been moved out, and we have found room for most of our other "stuff" at Goodwill!  Erica and I have picked out paint and Erica is ready to show off her artistic skills!  We will post pictures once the painting is complete.

We have a lot of birthing/baby events coming up.  We are planning to start a birthing class with a Doula May 1st for 6 weeks.  We are not planning to have a home birth, but I am excited to learn all of the information on birthing and baby she has to offer (Justin can't stop saying 'Doula Doula Doula' because he thinks it's a little crazy!).  We are also doing a "power" birthing class at Dean/St. Mary's hospital (where I will be delivering) this weekend.  We saw Dr. King today and are now on the 2 week check-up schedule until June when we will then go every week.  We got a really good report today, everybody is healthy and growing as they should be!  We did get bad news in that Dr. King will be out of town on our due date.  It was a little depressing for me as I feel very comfortable with her, but she made us feel confident in the other doctors we will possibly be working with on the big day.

We hope all is well with each and every one of you.  We will post again SOON!

Baby's first race!

Baby Stubbendick ran his first race, the Madison Shamrock Shuffle, on St. Patrick's day!  Thanks to an amazing sister and awesome friends, mom and baby made it through 6.2 miles.  Erica and Maria stayed by my side the entire time and we can't thank them enough for their support and encouragment.  The weather was incredibly warm for WI but we felt proud as Maria could only find one other pregnant lady on the course - and she was walking.  It can only mean one of two things, I am either determined to keep running or I am totally crazy.  Either way, it was a ton of fun and I can not wait to tell baby about this adventure.  We aren't signed up for any more races yet, but Grandma Karen is counting on us for a 5k in June...chances are there will be a lot more walking than jogging, but we will be happy to support the YWCA with Grandma!  Cheers to Fitness and Fun :)

25 weeks!

There are days that June seems like forever away, but looking back we wonder, where have the last 25 weeks gone?  It is crazy how fast time goes and how fast the baby is growing!  We can tell he is getting bigger, not only by the size of my belly, but by the force behind his movements!  It has been fun for Justin to feel him move in my stomach and in recent weeks, SEE him move!  He is starting to respond to the type of food I eat.  It never fails, when I have spicy foods, he will get the hiccups.  It is amazing how fast they grow.  Below are a few updated pictures of the baby bump :)

We are excited to start getting the nursery ready.  We have been working hard at rearranging to make room for a little one.  Thanks to the Schattschneider family, we have a crib and changing table.  Auntie Erica plans to help with the painting and design of the nursery.  We hope to get a lot done in the upcoming weeks, June will be here before we know it!

XOXO

Dear Baby,
Your mommy and daddy's love for you grows each day.  We have had so much fun watching you grow in mom's belly and are excited to see how big you get in the next 3 months.  You are such an active little guy!  Your dad enjoys feeling and watching you move in mom's tummy.  As much as we want to meet you, we want you to grow to your strongest before we do.  Keep going strong in there, we love you more than words can say!

Baby BOY!

We are the proud soon-to-be parents of a baby boy!  As you can imagine, Justin was jumping for joy when we saw the news!  He is proud to say he did his "touchdown" dance in the ultra sound room and all the way down the hallway.  We would have been happy either way; however, Justin finds it extra special that our first child will be a boy!

It was absolutely amazing to see our little guy!  We were able to see his bones, his heart, several organs, and best of all: his incredibly flexible moves!  He was a little naughty at times, putting his legs over his head when the tech wanted to see his heart, but for the most part he cooperated and we were able to see all of his itty bitty body!  He was very proud and showed us loud and clear, he is A BOY!  Our ultra sound tech told us we have a "show-off"!  Boys will be boys, I guess I better get used to it!!  Only having a sister and growing up with most things girl, this will definintely be a change for mom.  It will also be a big change having a baby boy for Grandpa Jim and Grandma Karen.  Good thing Grandpa and Grandma Stubbendick have plenty of practicte with little boys!  This ultra sound was truly amazing and makes us even more excited to meet baby BOY Stubbendick in June!  Here are a few pictures of our little one! :)

Until next time, xoxo
